VALDOSTA, Ga. - Representatives from Pinnacle Prime Contractors, Inc. (Pinnacle) joined Valdosta public officials, School Board members, administrators and educators Wednesday at the project site of West Gordon Elementary to celebrate its 'topping out.' More than 300 attendees, including Pinnacle's dedicated crewmembers and sub-contractors, had an opportunity to sign the school's last beam before it was lifted and secured.

During this milestone event, schoolteachers led more than 50 children in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Jerry Stacks, a junior at Valdosta High School, singing Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." to the crowd.

"As Valdosta continues to grow, Pinnacle is proud to contribute to its future not just with physical structures but with the care and unparalleled quality given to the facilities that shape the lives of future generations," said Tom Hutchinson, Pinnacle president.

Two schools will be incorporated into this new facility with 62 classrooms - the current West Gordon Elementary's kindergarten through 5th grade, and S.L. Mason Elementary's kindergarten through 3rd grade. Located at 813 West Gordon St., the school's anticipated completion date is May 2008.

Working with architects J. Glenn Gregory & Associates, Pinnacle was tasked with constructing the new facility atop approximately 33 expansive acres. The school is nearly 130,000 square feet, one-story and made with structural steel. It will include a gymnasium with 30 motorized bleachers, a 7,245-square-foot office facility, kitchen and cafeteria with capacity for 320 students, and private-dining-room space for 21 teachers.

In addition to the state-of-the-art administration section, students and faculty will enjoy a modern media center, library, two art classrooms with pottery/kiln room, a recording studio, special education classroom and M/S classroom.

Pinnacle recently celebrated the 'topping out' of the new Westside Elementary School as well. This current project marks the company's ninth educational project in the community to date. Based in Valdosta, Ga., Pinnacle continues to adhere to its motto, "Building Beyond Expectations."
